The Idea…

So the deal is this… each day, one picture… shot digitally… anywhere I feel like it…

I’ll be taking many photos each day and posting one for viewing. Maybe I’ll post up two if I am being really prolific and can’t decide on which one I like most.

the reason: to get better at photography… to capture life… to document what is out there…

what I want from the reader: honest assessments, feedback, critique, ideas…

what I shoot with: a not so hot Sony DSC-P30…

For me right now, it’s not about the camera…it will be soon enough. I’m trying to go with the mentality of “run what you brung”… can art be held back by the medium used? or does it just need to be adjusted…adapted…that’s what I’m working on.

I’m good at other forms of artistic expression, but not this… photography is definitely out of my comfort zone when it comes to understanding the depth of it’s potential. I want to learn though…, I want to try at least…, I love taking photos and just want to be better at it. I need your help though, as a reader of this blog I ask that you are honest in your comments. I’m not doing this only to get praise. I want direction and feedback from peers and masters. I can take it…, and more importantly, use it to learn.

Thanks,

Rob

One Response to “The Idea…”

  1. I would suggest getting a digital SLR camera…so much more control using real optical lenses to control aperture, and being able to control your shutter is key. Also Im not sure if you are familiar with the rule of thirds?

Just a thought: the horizon is too dead center
pic 1: The focused celery is too center
pic 2: I’d say you got it
pic 3: Looks good, focused area land in a good spot
pic 4: Not sure where the focus is, either the hands or the focused keys, but they are both a bit on the outside.
pic 5: close but still a bit center.
    pic 6: a bit high
pic 7: also just too center.
